We've got a battle between Cougars coming up. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Center will be up against a hot El Dorado team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. El Dorado's pitcher stepped up to hand Galt a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday.
JJ Allen and Joe Parsons did most of the damage at the plate: Allen went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Parsons went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs Parsons has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Phillips, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
El Dorado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galt only posted a batting average of .278.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Center made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mesa Verde on Monday. Center was the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over Mesa Verde. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Andy Hintz was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Hintz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Goldfarb, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Andrew Vang, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
El Dorado's record now sits at 9-5. As for Center, their record is now 7-2-1.
El Dorado might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Center when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can El Dorado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
