After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Orange Glen finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of the Guajome Park Academy Frogs by a score of 3-2. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Nicki Cardenas was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Cardenas was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Orange Glen's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Guajome Park Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Orange Glen will square off against High Tech Mesa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunder have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Guajome Park Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Joseph Academy at 3:00 p.m. on April 14.
