Baseball Recap: McFarland Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when McFarland faced off against Delano on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Tigers, falling 17-7. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

McFarland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cris Soto, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. The Cougars are 2-1 when Soto posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-6-1 otherwise.

McFarland now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Delano, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

While McFarland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
