Baseball Recap: Southwest EC Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Southwest EC had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Holtville Vikings 16-0. Considering the Eagles have won eight matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jose Salcido was incredible, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Montano, who went 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Southwest EC was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holtville only posted a batting average of .130.

Southwest EC's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Holtville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Southwest EC will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
