Meanwhile, Clay City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 48-20 loss at the hands of South Putnam. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clay City in their matchups with South Putnam: they've now lost nine in a row.
Clay City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Megan Jackson, who scored 4 points, and Kailyn Kirkling who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Linton-Stockton's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Clay City, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Linton-Stockton against Clay City in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 55-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Linton-Stockton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
