Make it ten blowout wins for the Coalinga Horned Toads this season. They breezed by Dos Palos at home to the tune of 58-17. The win was nothing new for Coalinga as they're now sitting on three straight.
Coalinga found their leader in underclassman Addie Love, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Love has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Lali Maciel was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals and two blocks.
Despite the defeat, Dos Palos saw an underclassman step up: Hannah Slimp scored ten points. That was a full 58.8% of Dos Palos' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Coalinga has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Dos Palos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coalinga won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Farmersville at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Dos Palos, they will head out on the road to take on Avenal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avenal is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
