River has gone 9-1 against Tyler recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pilots will head out on the road to take on the Knights at 5:00 p.m. River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, River beat Toronto 9-5.
Ava Wohnhas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 19 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mallarie Maddy was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brianna Wiley, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Tyler unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Cameron, falling 7-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 22, 2023, but that streak is no more.
River has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.
River got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Tyler by a conclusive 15-6 score. Will the Pilots repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
