Russell-Tyler-Ruthton had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took their game against Renville County West last Friday by a conclusive 27-6 score.
Meanwhile, Cedar Mountain/Comfrey couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 6-28 walloping at Hills-Beaver Creek's hands.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's win lifted them to 1-0 while Cedar Mountain/Comfrey's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's success rolls on or if Cedar Mountain/Comfrey are able to steal their positive momentum.
