The Riverside Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 34-23 to Lutheran-Northeast. Riverside has struggled against Lutheran-Northeast recently, as their contest on Monday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Lutheran-Northeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emerson Scott, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealy Ranslem, who scored eight points.
Riverside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Lutheran-Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 4-15.
Riverside won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Edward at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. St. Edward comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they will be playing at home against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
