Harker and Priory are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Eagles will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
El Camino hit Harker with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 11-4 to the Colts. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Colts: they've now lost eight in a row.
Jackson Powell and Pedro Castro stepped up to the plate in a big way. Powell got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Castro got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Priory waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Gryphons. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly nine runs.
Michael Hildebrandt made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Hildebrandt was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Jaidee Gerrodette was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Nathan Tuan was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Priory kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Priory's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Harker, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Harker has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Priory struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Harker came out on top in a nail-biter against Priory in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 8-6. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
