Basketball Game Preview: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Christian Brothers Falcons

Ponderosa is on a 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Christian Brothers is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Ponderosa Bruins will host the Christian Brothers Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Ponderosa took their contest with ease, bagging a 72-43 victory over Bella Vista. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 20 points or more this season.

Brooklynn Nordquist continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sammie Porter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Ponderosa was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bella Vista only posted six assists.

Meanwhile, Christian Brothers didn't have too much trouble with Chico on Saturday as they won 57-42.

Christian Brothers has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Ponderosa, their win bumped their record up to 22-2.

Ponderosa ended up a good deal behind Christian Brothers when the teams last played back in January, losing 63-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Christian Brothers' Olivia Novi, who went 9 of 14 on her way to 21 points.
