Baseball Recap: Colton Mcgee Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Entrepreneur

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cornerstone Christian, California Lutheran was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Entrepreneur Panthers a 24-0 shutout. The C-Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 22 runs or more this season.

Colton McGee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-5. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other pitching news, Ethan Ash looked comfortable as he scored four runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in hits (zero).

Back at the plate, Fedor Klochkov was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Alex Lai was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

California Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Entrepreneur, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, California Lutheran will challenge Bethel Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. California Lutheran's pitchers better be ready for this one: Bethel Christian has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Entrepreneur, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Miller at 3:45 p.m. on April 1.
