The Washington Tigers pushed their score all the way to 74 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 84-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of McKinley. Washington has struggled against McKinley recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Washington saw an underclassman step up: Jadyce Thigpen scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Thigpen also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Chris Knight, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Washington has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for McKinley, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will square off against Louisville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Louisville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 795 points over their last 11 contests. As for McKinley, they will head out on the road to challenge Green at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
