Baseball Game Preview: Covenant Academy Rams vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers

The Covenant Academy Rams will face off against the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Covenant Academy has three straight victories, Central Fellowship Christian Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Covenant Academy got the win against Twiggs Academy by a conclusive 21-2.

Joseph Christy was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Covenant Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Christy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Asa Wood was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Covenant Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Powers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Central Fellowship Christian Academy came up short against Trinity Christian back in March, falling 14-1.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Albritton, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Covenant Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Covenant Academy couldn't quite get it done against Central Fellowship Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 16-12.
