Archbishop Ryan has gone a perfect 3-0 against Franklin Towne recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Raiders and Ragdolls will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Archbishop Ryan took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Neumann-Goretti, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders and Ragdolls skirted past the Saints 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders and Ragdolls have posted against the Saints since May 18, 2019.
Flash Krzywicki was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emil-Favio Monegro, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Franklin Towne came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against Carver High School of Engineering & Science.
Shane Sliwinski looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayden Ocasio, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Gokhman, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Franklin Towne's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Ryan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Archbishop Ryan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Franklin Towne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Archbishop Ryan was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin Towne in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 12-7. Do the Raiders and Ragdolls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
