After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elkhorn, the West Point-Beemer Cadets were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Wisner-Pilger out 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory West Point-Beemer has posted yet this season.
Allie Kaup was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Hunke, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
West Point-Beemer is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Wisner-Pilger, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
West Point-Beemer will head out on the road to face off against Pierce on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Pierce is ranked 92nd, while West Point-Beemer is ranked 96th). As for Wisner-Pilger, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Howells-Dodge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Howells-Dodge is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
