The Forest Lake Christian Falcons will host the Encina Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Encina took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Forest Lake Christian, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Forest Lake Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Victory Christian, but they still walked away with a 35-30 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Forest Lake Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucy Rowley, who posted 14 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bree Wilson, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.
Forest Lake Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Encina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Sacramento Waldorf 59-29. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.
Forest Lake Christian will have to contain Elise Brandon as she made an impact in Encina's last game. She dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 96.6% of Encina's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ojehi Benito Oserogho, who posted a point and 13 rebounds.
Encina's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Forest Lake Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Forest Lake Christian has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 39.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Encina struggles in that department as they've been averaging 69.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
