After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Round Valley, the Willits Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 42-33 victory over South Fork. For Willits, this counts as revenge for the 32-23 loss South Fork walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Hazel Cooke was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Willits' points. Another player making a difference was Cecily Potter, who scored 8 points.
Willits is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for South Fork, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Willits will be playing in front of their home fans against Mendocino at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mendocino will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. South Fork's road trip will continue as they head out to face Anderson Valley at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th.
