The Otay Ranch Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Sweetwater 50-22 on the road. The win was just what Otay Ranch needed coming off of a 67-29 loss in their prior game.
Otay Ranch was led to victory by Maleah Porch and Anaya Carter. Porch dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Carter dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Carter is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mya Bermudez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Otay Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Sweetwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mount Miguel the next time they take the court. Otay Ranch will head out to face Mount Miguel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Sweetwater will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
