Baseball Recap: Esperanza Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Esperanza, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the South East Jaguars on Saturday. The Aztecs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29th (when they won 13-2).

The team relied heavily on Adam Tway, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Gavin Faur was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Esperanza always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Esperanza's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-16. As for South East, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 10-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Esperanza will venture away from home to square off against Sonora at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Raiders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for South East, they are taking a road trip to take on Garfield at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
