They were the clear victor by a 54-29 margin over South Pontotoc. Lafayette might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 25 points or more this season.
Madison Smith was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Lafayette's points. Harmony Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 9 rebounds.
Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for South Pontotoc, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Lafayette will square off against Choctaw Central at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Choctaw Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lafayette in Mississippi (Choctaw Central is ranked 28th, while Lafayette is ranked 89th). As for South Pontotoc, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Itawamba Agricultural at 7:00 p.m.
