Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), 54-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lafayette upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Commodores travel to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 2. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 3-2.

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Itawamba Agricultural Indians (Fulton, MS) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 2. South Pontotoc will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 37-35 non-league loss to New Hope (Columbus, MS).
