The Murrieta Mesa Rams will square off against the Saugus Centurions at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Murrieta Mesa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Santa Monica get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Rams not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 15th (when they won 8-1).
Not much got past Tanner Blackmon, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Santa Monica off the board. Blackmon also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Murrieta Mesa is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Alex Goettman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Quintin Diaz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saugus). They put the hurt on Wiseburn- Da Vinci with a sharp 22-3 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Centurions, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Zackery Seeley, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Kaden Haag was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Saugus lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Saugus' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-12. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Murrieta Mesa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.
