The Stringer Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 67-37 defeat at the hands of Leake County. Stringer has struggled against the Gators recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Leake County found their leader in underclassman Treylon Ricks, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Ricks is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marques Triplett, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Stringer has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Leake County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-13.
Stringer will head out on the road to take on the Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Piney Woods' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Red Devils have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Leake County, they and the Tartars will face off at 12:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Taylorsville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
