The Freeport Pretzels won the last time they faced the Sycamore Spartans, and things went their way on Friday too. Freeport took down Sycamore 66-52.
It was another big night for Dedric Macon, who scored 23 points. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kazion Morehead, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Freeport's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Sycamore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeport and Boylan Catholic will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Boylan Catholic will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Sycamore and Kaneland will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kaneland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sycamore in Illinois (Kaneland is ranked 165th, while Sycamore is ranked 351st).
