It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Sayre Sabres had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 62-50 win over the Generals. Sayre's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sayre's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mischa Ferguson-Bell, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ferguson-Bell has scored all season. Brionn Veal-Coston was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Sayre and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Constitution, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Sayre will head out on the road to face off against Audenried at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Audenried is on a four-game streak of home wins, Sayre a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Constitution does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
