If Santa Fe Indian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newcomb, they should've done a better job of containing Landon Noble. The Skyhawks had just enough and edged out the Braves 14-12 for which the team can thank Noble, who rushed for 124 yards and one score. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Newcomb didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ryden Nelson.

The win got Newcomb back to even at 1-1. As for Santa Fe Indian, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Newcomb has already played their next match, a 40-24 defeat against Gallup on the 5th. As for Santa Fe Indian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-6 loss against Laguna Acoma on the 5th.
