In what's become a running theme this season, the Otay Ranch Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Chula Vista 65-19 on the road. Otay Ranch's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Otay Ranch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maleah Porch out in front who scored eight points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Mya Bermudez, who scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Chula Vista struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Otay Ranch racked up 20 assists.
Otay Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Chula Vista, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 10-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Otay Ranch will face off against Victory Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chula Vista, they will head out on the road to take on Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
