Central Cabarrus is 8-2 against Carson since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Central Cabarrus put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past South Rowan 88-19 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 61-15.
Desmond Kent Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Dalton, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Carson can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 88-53 victory over East Rowan. The win was just what Carson needed coming off of a 89-66 loss in their prior game.
Central Cabarrus pushed their record up to 18-0 with that victory, which was their 15th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.47 points. As for Carson, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Central Cabarrus against Carson in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 86-45 victory. With Central Cabarrus ahead 53-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.
