The Montgomery Red Raiders were the 32-25 winner over Meadowbrook Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Montgomery was outmatched by Meadowbrook Christian at home and fell 49-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Montgomery has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Montgomery struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Meadowbrook Christian racked up 16 assists.
Leading Meadowbrook Christian to victory were Madalyn Fasnacht and Kailey Devlin. Fasnacht scored 15 points along with nine steals, while Devlin scored 22 points along with five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Devlin has scored at least 25% of Meadowbrook Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Millett, who scored two points along with three steals.
Montgomery has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Meadowbrook Christian, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery and Northumberland Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northumberland Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Meadowbrook Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Muncy at 7:30 p.m. Muncy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
