After losing to the Virginia Academy Patriots the last time they met, the Virginia Episcopal School Bishops decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Virginia Episcopal School snuck past Virginia Academy with a 55-51 victory on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Virginia Episcopal School.
Leading Virginia Episcopal School to victory were Kaloyan Kolev and Billy Koudelka. Kolev dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Koudelka scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. Ethan Kline was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Virginia Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rondel Jones Jr.. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. Jones Jr. scored a full 39.2% of Virginia Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Manser , who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Virginia Episcopal School's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Virginia Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Virginia Episcopal School will head out on the road to face off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Virginia Academy will be staying on the road on Sunday to face off against Coolidge at 6:00 p.m. on December 3rd. Hopefully Coolidge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
