The Corcoran Panthers waltzed into their game on Wednesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over Strathmore. That's another feather in the cap for Corcoran, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Corcoran was led to victory by Katalina Castillo and Zoee Cabral. Castillo dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds, while Cabral scored 24 points along with three steals. Cabral's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Santos, who scored four points along with six assists.
Corcoran has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Strathmore, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.
Corcoran will take on Woodlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodlake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1118th, while Corcoran is ranked 512th). As for Strathmore, they will head out on the road to challenge Granite Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Granite Hills is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
