The Fort Calhoun Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 38-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arlington. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fort Calhoun has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Fort Calhoun saw an underclassman step up: Ansley Elofson scored 13 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Arlington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emerson Timm out in front who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Britt Nielsen, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Fort Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Arlington, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Fort Calhoun will take on the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arlington, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Conestoga has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
