Baseball Recap: Covington Has No Trouble Against Catholic of Pointe Coupee

Covington won against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy last Wednesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Covington Lions put the hurt on the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets with a sharp 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Covington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. Catholic of Pointe Coupee now has a losing record of 5-6.

Coincidentally, Covington and Catholic of Pointe Coupee will both be playing Central Catholic the next time they take the field. Catholic of Pointe Coupee will head out to face Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Covington will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
