The Willow Glen Rams will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Los Altos Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Willow Glen's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Los Altos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Willow Glen came out on top against Live Oak on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Rams were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Acorns. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Acorns: they've now won four in a row.

Ben Mudgett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mudgett was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Veroneau, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Amann, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Leigh hit Los Altos with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell 8-3 to the Longhorns.
Los Altos also got a good showing from Mitesh Jain, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Jain a new career-low in walks (zero).
On the hitting side, Los Altos saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Hamby, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Willow Glen now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Los Altos, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Willow Glen came out on top in a nail-biter against Los Altos when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 10-8. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
