Despite the loss, Oroville still got an impressive performance from Rachel Bone, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Amira Herrera was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Las Plumas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Hepworth, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Hepworth's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was liliana Carrillo, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Oroville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Las Plumas, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
Oroville will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Las Plumas at 7:30 p.m. Las Plumas and Weed will face off at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Weed presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Las Plumas in California (Weed is ranked 146th, while Las Plumas is ranked 701st).
