The Freedom Falcons lost to the Amador Valley Dons back in December of 2021, but the Freedom Falcons didn't allow the Amador Valley Dons the same satisfaction on Monday. Freedom strolled past Amador Valley with points to spare, taking the game 48-31.
Freedom was led to victory by Ariel De La O and Eve Monzon. De La O dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Monzon scored 19 points along with 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Monzon has scored at least 25% of Freedom's points. Anisa Blalock was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
Freedom's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Amador Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Freedom will head out on the road to face off against Casa Grande at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Casa Grande presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Freedom in California (Casa Grande is ranked 92nd, while Freedom is ranked 717th). As for Amador Valley, they will square off against Milpitas at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
