After a string of three wins, Springfield's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They have to be aching after a bruising 16-47 defeat to Minneota. Senior Isaac Fink and junior Decker Scheffler were two go-getters for Springfield despite the loss. The former caught passes for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns, while the latter passed for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns. Scheffler has now scored at least one touchdown in the past six games.
Meanwhile, Sleepy Eye didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 22-28 to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.
The last time the two teams met, Springfield came up short against Sleepy Eye the last time the two teams met, falling 18-26. The defeat knocked Springfield out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at Sleepy Eye with a vengeful fire.
