The Adelanto Saints lost against the Hesperia Scorpions back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Adelanto fell 52-45 to Hesperia. Adelanto has not had much luck with Hesperia recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Defeat or not, Adelanto got some senior leadership from Nina Lacy who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds and Tanzy Richard who scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Lacy scored a full 40% of Adelanto's points, the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hesperia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Annabel Sanchez, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Chelsea Ortiz, who scored 14 points.
Adelanto now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Hesperia, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Adelanto won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Apple Valley at 4:30 p.m. on December 21st. Apple Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. Hesperia is on the road again on Thursday and play against Citrus Valley at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st.
