Sacred Heart Prep and Aragon are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. The Sacred Heart Prep Gators will challenge the Aragon Dons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Saturday, Sacred Heart Prep came up short against San Mateo and fell 5-1. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kyle Sweeney was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
On the hitting side, Sacred Heart Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Schmalzle, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aragon). They blew past Live Oak 10-3 on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dons considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Kyle Crawford looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keith Matye, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Charlie Henderson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Sacred Heart Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Aragon, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sacred Heart Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Aragon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Sacred Heart Prep's way against Aragon when the teams last played back in February of 2023, as Sacred Heart Prep made off with a 13-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacred Heart Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
