Baseball Game Preview: Muir Mustangs vs. Pasadena Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Muir will face off against Pasadena. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Muir will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Muir will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Pasadena, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mustangs walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Bulldogs on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Conrad Hunziker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Fletcher Paddock, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kahlil Rishwain was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Muir kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.

Muir's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pasadena, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-13-1.
