After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Delta, Basalt was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Aspen Skiers as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Longhorns considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Sydney Ostberg was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Gomes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Basalt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Basalt's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Aspen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Basalt will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Rifle at 3:00 p.m. As for Aspen, they will face off against Gunnison at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
