The Tamaqua Blue Raiders gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past East Stroudsburg South with points to spare, taking the game 52-35. For Tamaqua, this counts as revenge for the 37-35 defeat East Stroudsburg South walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Tamaqua's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendle Miller, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Ligenza, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Tamaqua's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for East Stroudsburg South, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Tamaqua will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Catasauqua at 1:30 p.m. East Stroudsburg South will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Parkland at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
