Fosston got themselves on the board against Cass Lake-Bena on Friday, but Cass Lake-Bena never followed suit. Fosston took the match and then some with a 38-0 victory over Cass Lake-Bena. Fosston were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The win bumped Fosston's record up to 2-4. The defeat dropped Cass Lake-Bena's record to 1-4.
Next week Fosston take on Fertile-Beltrami at 7:00 PM. Fosston will be strutting in after a win while Fertile-Beltrami will be stumbling in from a loss. As for Cass Lake-Bena, they will face off against Pine River-Backus. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
