The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Christian in their matchups with The Webb Schools: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Western Christian saw an underclassman step up: Hannah Yamamoto scored ten points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yamamoto has scored all season.
Western Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as The Webb Schools posted 12 assists.
The Webb Schools' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xajani Badkar led the charge by scoring 13 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. Badkar hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games. Geniya Parker was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Western Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for The Webb Schools, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Christian will take on Avalon at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for The Webb Schools, they will be playing at home against San Gabriel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Gabriel Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
