Pine-Richland has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Avonworth Antelopes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pine-Richland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
Last Monday, Pine-Richland ended up a good deal behind Armstrong and lost 48-29.
Pine-Richland's loss came about despite a quality game from Madison Zavasky, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Zavasky scored a full 65.5% of Pine-Richland's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Maren Iski was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Avonworth strolled past Gateway with points to spare on Sunday, taking the game 37-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Avonworth.
Pine-Richland bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Avonworth, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Pine-Richland was able to grind out a solid victory over Avonworth in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 55-46. Will Pine-Richland repeat their success, or does Avonworth have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
