The Galileo Lions will head out to challenge the San Francisco Waldorf Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Galileo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Galileo will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Gateway on Tuesday. Galileo put the hurt on Gateway with a sharp 12-2 win. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Gators on their field since April 8, 2016.

Zane Ridley and Elijah Michael made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ridley struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Michael pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Ridley has posted since back in March of 2024. At bat, Ridley went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs, while Michael scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Ridley also put up a triple, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Diego Gil was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Elliott Hartman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Galileo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gateway only posted a batting average of .190.
Meanwhile, San Francisco Waldorf lost 15-5 to Westmoor on Tuesday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.
Sam Appel was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Appel is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Yuumi Kakinuma was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
San Francisco Waldorf now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Galileo, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Galileo has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like San Francisco Waldorf struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Galileo beat San Francisco Waldorf 7-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Galileo repeat their success, or does San Francisco Waldorf have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
