Chrystal Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Niles, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Meanwhile, St. Dominic came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Abigail Mandrell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madi Ganey was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Roth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple.
St. Dominic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive contests.
Eureka's record is now 14-3. As for St. Dominic, their record now sits at 14-7.
Eureka suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to St. Dominic in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
