If the Rockwood Rockets were feeling good off their 60-30 takedown of the North Star Cougars last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rockwood fell 56-43 to Cambria Heights on Wednesday.
It was another big night for Sienna Kirsch, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds for Cambria Heights. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kirsch has scored at least a third of Cambria Heights' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Rogal, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Rockwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for Cambria Heights, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.
Rockwood will head out on the road to take on Northern at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Rockwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 445th in Pennsylvania, while Northern is ranked 150th in Maryland). As for Cambria Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moshannon Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Cambria Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
