The Miller Rebels are taking a road trip to challenge the San Bernardino Cardinals at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Miller is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out California Lutheran 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted since April 4, 2024.

Ilya Ridge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Miller is 10-3 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Miller's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Quintana, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Nathan Lora was another, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, San Bernardino won against Pacific on May 1st with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Cardinals won by a run and slipped past Rolling Hills Prep 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Cardinals, who have now won six contests in a row.
Miller is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for San Bernardino, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Miller took their win against San Bernardino in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
